Here, let me first give you a link to my pal Sean's web site, HERE. He was very kind enough to let me use a picture I found of him on a google image search and it was exactly the kind of look I was after. Top marks to the man for being a great sport and letting me use the picture. Go visit his site and just look at some of the stuff he does, a man after my own heart.
So, here's the paragraph from an email that David Hailwood sent me which suggested and best describes what/who 'The Happy Goth' is:
"A right tosser. Hasn't quite grasped the whole Goth concept, and although he's got the right dark and brooding image clothes wise, he always has a massive grin on his face and liked to tell folk to 'cheer up'. He is the most despised man in the goth community, but damn near impossible to kill(though that doesn't stop people from trying). He has so many knives sticking into his back that he looks like a human pin-cushion. He also has an axe embedded in his skull. This doesn't seem to bother him much. He has a slogan on his skull motif t-shirt that says 'Gizza smile darlin''.
