My goth pal Lisa gave me a call and asked me if I'd do her an illustration for her room and seeing as she's actually not a suicidal princess of darkness, but actually a really nice animal loving young lady, I couldn't refuse. I tried to refuse, but she had me in one of those Darth Vader neck grips, so I gave in and said yes.

Concept 1: Was in the right ball park but she rather looks like some sort of fairy porn star. Heck knows what she's thinking about doing to that rabbit?

Concept 2: What was I thinking? Hey, not everyone's perfect, I'm putting this version up because she makes me laugh ok? Move along to the better stuff.

Concept 3: Was really just a colour test, but I didn't like where I was going and really it was a bit too early to start colouring it so I never showed it to anyone until now and got on refining it as a gray (values) version.

Concept 4: Lots of changes such as better open eyes, bigger white rabbit, but one critique meant I had to implement smaller titties (bah!)

Concept 5: Last thing to change was the spiteful/sulky face to this sweet looking friendly goth fairy. time to get colouring, but I couldn't resist sending Lisa this vandalised version. go on, give it a click.

Final Artwork: Well, skipping the whole colouring issues, here it is! I have to say this was actually quite a challenge and certain things slapped me with inspiration such as the approach I used for the wings and the mushroom forest floor texture. Click on the close-up Details and have fun.

Lisa was so happy with this illustration that she sacrificed all these rabbits on an alter and sent me their heads. Thanks Lisa!
